Every agent has a role. Every role has a function.
An agent is a persistent identity with a role, permitted tools and recoverable work history. Its role describes what it is responsible for; its functions describe the tasks it is equipped and authorized to perform.
Organize agents into teams and departments such as research, engineering or operations. You set the company’s direction and decide who can act, which work needs review, and what a successful outcome looks like.
Shared knowledge. Clear responsibilities.
Mission Control is your workspace for assigning projects and reviewing outcomes. The runtime coordinates execution underneath it. Company knowledge and project records preserve what the team needs to continue its work.
- Agents: persistent identities with assigned roles
- Roles and functions: clear jobs and responsibilities
- Teams and departments: coordinated areas of work
- Knowledge and oversight: shared context, permissions and review
An agent is more than its current model.
The model supplies reasoning for an agent’s current work. The agent’s identity, role, permissions and history should persist outside that model interaction. Persistent does not mean a process is always running.
You retain oversight of the organization. Work should be traceable to an accountable agent and a recorded result; a convincing response alone does not establish that an action was completed.
