Two scales of the same ambition.
Compacitas starts close to the work: a node, a runtime and a path to a coordinated cluster. Capacitas addresses the infrastructure needed to connect multiple clusters and sites.
This creates a progression from local ownership to broader capacity without assuming that every participant shares the same policy, facility or operating authority.
Connection does not erase boundaries.
Federation needs an explicit agreement about identity, workload placement, data movement, capacity allocation and responsibility. A remote cluster remains an independently governed environment.
The federation should expose eligible capacity and enforce placement requirements. The details depend on the connected infrastructure and the approved operating model.
Grow when the project calls for it.
Prove the workload on the smallest useful deployment. Expand to a cluster when the workload demands it. Consider federation when multiple clusters or sites provide a clear operational benefit.
